Do you know Kannada Industry has the best directors in Indian Cinema?

Sandalwood, also referred as Chandanavana is one of the booming Film Industries of South India. Even though the industry doesn’t have big budget producers as of now, the insiders are creating wonders with what they’re getting. Despite the craze for Kannada movies watched by Kannadigas is far less compared to other south Indian language audiences, these new directors are altering the mindsets of Kannada audience by instilling the aura of what Kannada movies can be.

Anup Bhandari:

Best kannada Anup BhandariWho formerly worked as a Software Engineer in USA, is celebrated for his directorial debut in Kannada cinema. Yes its none other than the horror-thriller movie RangiTaranga, a massive blockbuster of the year 2015. The movie bagged several awards for its music, story, screenplay and direction. It completed one whole year being screened at multiplexes.  The plot reflects on a novelist and his wife visiting an ancestral home of the wife’s, in a remote village called Kamarottu, where they get into a conflict of obscurity happening around them.

The director is working on his new action-romance movie Rajaratha starring his own brother Nirup Bhandari and Avantika Shetty.



Pawan Kumar:

Pawan Kumar introduced crowd funding technique, when he was poor with cash and rich with ideas. The filmmaker flouted against the unexceptional, traditional filmmaking and made what he is interested in.

Lucia and U-Turn, these two were the remarkable movies in the milestone of Kannada films. Lucia, a movie about lucid dreaming, reality and illusion; where U-Turn is a movie which came to existence by few experiences the writer faced on Bangalore roads. U-Turn was the first Kannada film to be released on Netflix.

The filmmaker is also helping the struggling new comers, to screen their movies on his online movie talkies .

Rakshit Shetty:

He did his debut as an actor portraying himself as a lead in the movie Tughlaq, where the movie did not make pretty well at box office.

The film Ulidavaru Kandanthe, an anthology of five point-of-views, won Rakshit Shetty the Karnataka State Award and Filmfare Award.

Kirik Party a musical joyous ride with the mixture of comedy, romance and friendship has successfully made a move in taking all the audience to theatres. The movie has made a whopping 15cr collection within 9 days of its release.


D Satya Prakash:

Rama Rama re D Sathy Prakash Satya Prakash a short filmmaker turned feature film director who had earlier directed a short film “Jayanagar 4thBlock”, starring Dhananjay of the movie “Director’s Special”.

Satya Prakash is significant for his movie “Rama Rama Re”, a neo-noir that has delighted the audience for its divergent story, music and screenplay.  The storyline of movie is an inspiration that revolves around ‘life and death’ in Bhagavad Gita.


Hemanth Rao:
best kannada hemanth rao directorHemanth Rao is another engineer turned director in the list. Worked as an assistant director under Girish Kasaravalli for the movie "Gulaabi Talkies", then he assisted Jacob Verghese for three more projects.
This filmmaker penned the story "Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu" and directed it. The plot of the story revolves around an Alzheimer's disease affected father, who goes missing when his son takes him out for shopping. The film has made 20cr at box office.
Raam Reddy:
This dirBest kannada raam reddy ector is august for his directorial debut 'Thithi', where he made non professional actors to act in the movie.
The director got graduated from Delhi's St. Stephen's college and later went on to pursue his film schooling at Prague Film School.
The movie got premiered at "68th Locarno International Film Festival" on 8th August 2015, which won the "Golden Leopard" award. The film was released all over Karnataka on 6th May 2016.
